Druidry is
a native, spiritual traditional path from what can be loosely called
“united kingdom”. Based on the magical sacred relationship between
mankind and the spirits of nature, the interplay between this world and
the otherworld. Using the sacred paths and gateways to gain access to the
otherworlds, dolems, trees and inner circles (Nemetons). Learning to love
and care for the great mother, ‘nature’ and yourself. Gaining control
and use of the divine force of nature itself; 'Awen'. Spirituality
is sought through two paths that borrow from each other from time to time.
The seeker looks into themselves and takes the life oath to either Bard or
Ovateship. This is a lifelong devotion and should not be taken lightly. The
Bardic path focuses on the arts, poetry, music, crafts and their use as
expression of faith to the ancestors and the nature spirits. The
Ovate path focuses on the magical arts, divination and “spell craft”,
crystals, herbalism and their use in ritual and magical arts. The
two paths borrow from each other and learn from each other all the time
forming the path to status of Druid, then after a suitable period (21
years) Arch Druid. If are born into the path you then take the paths
together as part of life learning and achieve High Arch Druid at the age
of 30. The
above is a very basic over view and as with a lot of things in the
“pagan” faith rather more complicated. My
druidic path is the true and real path that has been handed down through
generations of druids, much of the ritual is based on the use and
direction of the nature spirits, salamanders, gnomes, dryads et al and
devotion to the wise ones, ancestors and the gods. The
first dip of the proverbial toe in to the path takes the form of a
rebirthing into the faith. Then the choice is made of the direction and
path the person wishes to take. Much of the learning is directive only and
you will be asked to seek at the answers to questions and reach out into
nature. Practical learning will be on an ‘as and when’ basis, this
will give you the chance to touch base and take part in ritual, other than
at Sabbats. There will be occasional days of devotion, giving all in the
inner grove a chance to practice the arts of faith and share with others. The
path is an order, meaning that all learnt during the path remains in that
group. Too much of the neo druidic faith has been watered down by well or
ill meaning “high priestess’s” and the publication of faith they
have invented and called druidic (with a small ‘d’). You will be told
when you are ready to take your own grove forward and start teaching. Any
teachings you make must be of your teachers you can add more to guide but
never take away. Much of the “high ritual” is very structured and here
a major correlation with the Masonic Templar Lodge comes in to play. The
path has many crossovers into other faiths and to my mind this strengthens
the bonds between our three paths of Druidic, Baphomet and Stregheria. The basis for the faith is a devotion to nature, and in turn the spirits of nature will offer devotion to you. |
